KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

China

Language: The official language is Mandarin.

Plugs: The plugs in China are type A, C, and I. Type A has two flat parallel pins, type C has two round pins, and type I has three flat pins in a triangular pattern.

Currency: The Renminbi, also called The Yuan. The abbreviations are RMB and CNY. For a quick conversion check, my go to’s are Google and XE Currency Converter. XE also has a great app.

Cash or Card?: Cash is still more widely used over credit cards. This is especially true outside touristy areas. If you find yourself in the bigger cities, you shouldn’t have an issue using your card at most places.

Best Time To Visit: April to May and September to October is the ideal time to visit and have the best temperature and weather.

How Long Should I Go For?: China is a large country. I recommend a minimum of two weeks so you have enough time to see the highlights along with some other hidden gems. Need help planning your next trip? Check out some of my guides here and the bucket list here!

What To Bring: Depending on what part of the country you are in, winters can get quite cold with temperatures going under freezing, and summers getting pretty hot. Check out some of my essentials here.
