Ireland
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
Ireland
Language: Irish (Gaelic) and English.
Plugs: The plugs in Israel are type G. Type G has three rectangular pins in a triangular pattern.
Currency: Euro. The abbreviation is EUR. For a quick conversion check, my go to’s are Google and XE Currency Converter. XE also has a great app.
Cash or Card?: While traveling in Ireland, I never came across a time when I needed cash over my card. Of course, it’s always best to have some on hand for when you are more off the beaten path.
Best Time To Visit: The peak time to go is from June to early September for the best weather and long days. For the perfect balance of weather and smaller crowds, visit between March to May and September to November.
How Long Should I Go For?: Depends on how much you want to see! I have spent as little as a weekend in Ireland and had a great time hanging out in either Dublin or Galway, and as long as 10 days doing a road trip from Dublin to southern Ireland to Galway. Need help planning your next trip? Check out some of my guides here and the bucket list here!
What To Bring: In the summer, the weather is warm and comfortable. The rest of the year, layers are your friend. Prepare for possibly sunny or rain or wind or cold. Check out some of my essentials here.
