map showcasing israel

Language: Hebrew. However, you will find that most people also speak English.

Plugs: The plugs in Israel are type C, H, and M. Type C has two round pins, type H has three flat pins in a triangular shape, and type M has three round pins plus a round grounding pin.

Currency: The New Israel Shekel. The abbreviation is NIS. For a quick conversion check, my go to’s are Google and XE Currency Converter. XE also has a great app.

Cash or Card?: You will be able to use a card in most places around the country. Keep a small amount of cash on you for small purchases at some shops.

Best Time To Visit: September to October and April to June are the best months to visit with the best weather. From June to August the temperature can get as high as 90°F. Winter can also be a great time. I visited in January and only had to deal with a bit of rain up north, and had warm, sunny days in the south.

How Long Should I Go For?: You can easily see most of the highlights if visiting for 10-14 days. Of course, if you can stay longer and see everything Israel has to offer. Need help planning your next trip? Check out some of my guides here and the bucket list here!

What To Bring: If you are visiting during the peak times, temperatures are usually around the 70°-80° during the day. In the winter I would bring both chilly weather clothes, and cool clothes if heading down to the beaches in the south. Check out some of my essentials here.
