South Korea

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

South Korea

Language: The official language of South Korea is Korean.

Plugs: The plugs in South Korea are type F. It is the standard Europlug socket with two round prongs.

Currency: South Korean Won. Abbreviations are KRW. For a quick conversion check, my go to’s are Google and XE Currency Converter. XE also has a great app.

Cash or Card?: Cards and cash are both used in South Korea. Cards can be used at most hotels, restaurants, and tours. However, cash is best used when exploring the many street markets. I would make sure to always have some on you.

Best Time To Visit: Spring months of April, May, and June along with the autumn months of September, October, and November are best. Winter is very cold and can be snowy, and winters tend to be hot and humid.

How Long Should I Go For?: This depends on how much of the country you want to see. I could spend weeks in Seoul and still have more to explore! Seould is the 16th largest city in the world. No matter how much time you have in Seoul, you will have a great time. Now if you wanted to see more of the country on top of Seoul, I would spend at least 2 weeks traveling the country to feel like you have enough time to get a taste. Need help planning your next trip? Check out some of my guides here and the bucket list here!

What To Bring: Depending on the time of year you are traveling. If you are closer to the winter, make sure to bring warm clothes, and in the summer has clothes that are good for hot and humid. Check out some of my essentials here.
